Tacoma lost the series final to Sacramento on Thursday night, 14-3. The lopsided score – caused by Sacramento’s eight-run fourth inning – prevented the thought of extra innings from crossing anyone’s mind. It was only the third time in the last seven games a Rainiers game did NOT go into extra innings.
Sacramento won the series, three games to one – and the River Cats took the season series, 9-7.
Now it’s on to Colorado Springs for five games in four days (there will be a Sunday doubleheader). Friday night’s game is at 6:05 (Pacific) and it will be broadcast on South Sound Sports 850 AM and streaming online right here. Tacoma starts RHP Andrew Carraway (4-4, 4.08) against Sky Sox RHP Rob Scahill (7-9, 5.44).
Sorry for the brief blog today, I’ll be back with a full entry on Saturday. It’s because of a tough travel day – to answer the question in the comments from yesterday: I typed this at midnight on Thursday night, wake-up call on Friday is 4:30 AM in Tacoma, and we will pull into the hotel in Colorado Springs at 2:00 PM. The bus from the hotel to the ballpark will be at 3:00 – so we get an hour to eat or nap. Eat, or nap? That is the question…
