Vasquez Deals Again

Anthony Vasquez held Colorado Springs to one hit and one run over seven innings on Monday night, and the Rainiers beat the Colorado Spring Sky Sox, 4-2.

It was the eighth consecutive quality start for Vasquez in the PCL. He was terrific for Tacoma last year, and this was a tremendous first outing of the season.

Vinnie Catricala provided the brunt of the offense, going 3-for-4 with three RBI in his best game as a Rainiers player.

Tacoma hosts the Sky Sox again on Tuesday at 7:05, with the broadcast on 850 AM and streaming online right here. Tacoma starts RHP Matt Fox (0-1, 3.00) against Sky Sox LHP Christian Friedrich (0-1, 7.20).

Sorry, but there will be no full blog post on Tuesday. I’m doing a speaking engagement for the team that is taking up a big chunk of the day. We’ll be back in force on Wednesday.
